You are my home...

Mengutip sebuah tulisan lama:
"it's amazing how life can play tricks on us."

"life is beautiful with all its tricks and surprises."

Tahun 2010, hidup lagi-lagi memberikan kejutannya.

World's full of strangers
You're the only one I see
No matter how far I'm lost
Always coming back to you I'll be
Life tells us nothing
They make what we believe
Wrote down words to a story
Full of flashes of memories

This has been a nice, nice dream
Don't fade as I wake
For I'll be here for you to take

You are a piece of my surprise
Hidden beneath all mysteries
It's you who I want to keep and to keep me forever

I know I've gone too far for too long
I'm coming home

I'm coming home
I'm coming home
I'm coming home
To you

I'm coming home

Reunion with The Demons

Pada tahun 1998, saya membeli sebuah kaset tape berisi kompilasi soundtrack film, Spawn the Movie. It was Incubus.

Tanpa saya sadari akhirnya saya ketagihan beat musik mereka, and then it's official....I became a fan.

Dalam kegalauan saya, saya bahkan sempat menulis di twitter saya: "If not now, WHEN?".

The golden ticket, in my hands!!

Beberapa waktu setelahnya band pembuka lokal, Good Morning Alice, naik panggung dan memainkan 4 lagu.

I just got off work and I got a lot of homework to do) - mulai bergerak, berlompatan dan mosh-pit terliar yang pernah saya alami dalam jangka waktu setahun terakhir pun terjadi. It was amazing!

Dan "The Warmth"...well, what more can you say about this single, ey?

17 lagu mereka bawakan sebelum akhirnya mereka mundur dari panggung, semacam 'ritual' singkat menjelang encore. Menurut bocoran sebagai pembuka encore Incubus seharusnya memainkan "I Miss You", namun akhirnya memilih untuk membawakan salah satu hits terpanjang dari album baru "If Not Now, When", yaitu "In The Company Of Wolves".

A little bit of hope, though..setelah membaca twit Brandon Boyd kemarin -
@mybrandonboyd: @Incunesia thank you everyone in Jakarta! We had such a fun show last night. We love you, see you soon!

They'll be coming back soon...I know they will.

The Lost Talent

Dengan memanfaatkan gitar dan sebuah software musik dalam MacBooknya, Gendra merekam karyanya dalam kamar tidurnya sendiri dan menghasilkan berbagai single yang menakjubkan, dan merangkupnya dalam sebuah album penuh - "Sonic Sun", sebuah EP - "Getting To Know Yourself" dan sebuah album (on progress) - "Do You See What I See?"

Rest in peace, young talented soul...

Clear simple and plain...

Have you ever listen to a song (or just any kind of music)...
and then your body just shivers and you cry instantly?

It happens to me when I listen to this song...

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find
You and I collide

When We Awake All Dreams Are Gone

Last Friday. Went to Lomography Embassy near where I work to get our photoworks results. Then stayed to watch L'Alphalpha's album launching at Heyfolks! The album is called 'When We Awake All Dreams Are Gone', and the gig was made as a small media gathering which then became this private show - involving the media and also close friends. Watched it with friends and my brother capturing their pic. Their performance that night was amazing and fun. The album came out great. Love the whole packaging of the album, it was made as a little story book for children with an extra bell given in it as a bonus, and especially love the bonus CD they handed out for some of the early buyers of the CD. The bonus was a video of the band performing, made by (of course) the talented videographer who is also my younger brother, Dimas Wisnuwardono.

You should listen to their music. You'll love them :)

Good Life - For Today and For Tomorrow

[Good Life by One Republic]

Have been watching the news for the last few days and all I keep getting are bad news. So many bad things are happening in Indonesia, all the riots, the anarchy, the hatred and seeing people hurting and killing each other. And just today I read another story about the injustice that is taking part in Indonesian law.

As one of Indonesian young people, I know that we all want everything to be better. Better future, more justice and especially, more peace. Let's all keep our positive minds and hope for the best, and give our best to make a better future for everyone. Because the future is ours to make.

"The hope is we have so much to feel good about

...

This could really be a good life"

Tomorrow will be Thursday, the day when the mother of our dear friend, Alanda Kariza, will be fighting for her own justice and fighting for truth. Let's all please give support and prayers for Alanda, her mother and her family. Let's all pray and hope that truth and justice will be on their side tomorrow. Give support through Twitter by giving hashtag #HelpAlanda and spread the word. And read her whole true story here:

God bless you, Alanda. And God bless us all...

Waiting On You

[Sun Airway - Waiting On You]

Don't go down so gently into those deep wells;
remember your knees in the wet grass.
I know we've been so lost and torn up
in forests so solemn with regret and sorrow.
...
Reach for my, reach for my, reach for my hands;
they're seldom so open and reckless with hope—
more often with caution stead fast to the rope.
I've never seen myself so graceful and light;
asleep deep in each other's memories tonight.

I'm just waiting on you to bring yourself to justice.
Forget about the past—it's all wet and rusted.
I'm just waiting on you to know we've been discovered,
that what we've been's been uncovered.
I'm just waiting on you.

Don't go down so gently into those deep wells.
We cast shadows past in those wounded fields
and something seems so awfully awry in the meadow:
a silence that creeps through the dead grass.

Reach for my, reach for my, reach for my hands
they're icy as sheets in the stiff night.
We whisper with tales of defeats
and wild days behind us so ragged and weak
while desperation seeps through the wide sky we'll speak
with the other's each others so sunken, so deep,
alone but together we've emptied our dreams
on the floor of this New York apartment we creep
through a darkness we never we thought we would see.
You're heartbeat and shirt sleeves, your hair on my cheek.
I'd die now if only it were up to me.

I'm guessing we wandered to close to the water.
The current's been sweeping us in.

I'm just waiting on you to bring yourself to justice.
Forget about the past—it's all wet and rusted.
I'm just waiting on you to know we've been discovered,
that what we've been's been uncovered.

I'm just waiting on you to let go of sharp objects
and keep those hands kept in context.
I'm just waiting on you to breathe without permission,
acutely drawn with precision.
I'm just waiting on you.

I'm guessing we wandered to close to the water.
The current's been sweeping us in.

thanks for the video, hon....ti amo..

Sky Sailing for Weekend

[ Brielle by Sky Sailing]

This sweet song started my day. Sky Sailing was started as the first solo project of Adam Young in 2006, before he started performing and recording as Owl City in 2007. He then left the project in favor of Owl City. One album has been released by the project - An Airplane Carried Me to Bed on July 13, 2010, and features some of the early recordings of Adam Young, before he toured as Owl City. Upon the release of An Airplane Carried Me to Bed, Adam Young described the collection of songs on the Sky Sailing website :

"I've kept these recordings secret for a long time and they've never seen the light of day until now. Long before Owl City was ever a spark of a flame, a lot of blue-collared working days were spent absentmindedly daydreaming about what would ultimately become this collection of songs. From the perfectionist musician's perspective, a song is never truly "finished" but rather "abandoned" and thus, after a lot of inspiration and reckless experimentation, I emerged from the basement with a 11 song record which I affectionately entitled, An Airplane Carried Me To Bed." - Adam Young

Have a great weekend, everyone :)

Introducing: Sarasvatī - Story Of Peter

(Felix Dass) (1)

SarasvatÄ« is Risa Saraswati, a new aspiring singer/song writer who pursue a solo career using her Sanskrit name, SarasvatÄ« (सरस्वती).

Risa Saraswati - who had previously sang for Bandung, Indonesia synthpop band Homogenic - has recently parted with the band that had risen her to fame. And now she is independently sharing her own work, producing her own EP which affirmed her determination on the music industry.

Story Of Peter is the mini album which she produced by herself with her full passion on music.

says Risa on Story of Peter. (2)

The main (and first) single, Story of Peter, shows a lot of voice range that she has. The single also stated that Sarasvatī is a newcomer in Indonesian music industry that should be regarded, heard and enjoyed with deep level of expectations.

Sarasvatī also unite the two contrary music poles; i.e. The singles Story of Peter and Fighting Club, represents western music which she adapts greatly through series of her listening and translating on music. While on her single Bilur, she mixed traditional music elements which actually have a very large role in the foundation of her personal music taste.

“Sedari kecil saya hidup di lingkungan seni, lahir diantara keluarga yang mempelajari kebudayaan daerah, menghabiskan masa kecil dengan menonton pertunjukan seni budaya daerah di mana keluarga saya tampil” (3)

And Story of Peter itself, actually is a dedication for her childhood bestfriend which is actually quite difficult to understand by ordinary people.

says Risa on background of the album making. (4)

Risa's most important asset as Sarasvatī is the beautiful angelic voice that is inherent gracefully within her. This is what other Risa's fans - especially those who have been following her success story eversince Homogenic - would probably most agree with. Nevertheless, the way she wrote her songs is also something that is out of common, since she doesn't start her song writing with any music instruments, other than her magical voice only.

Other than the unique way of her song writing, the album Story of Peter also included two cover version songs that once again proven her remarkable personal taste and technical skills. She chosen the songs Question from Space Astronaut - another electronic synthpop band from Bandung, Indonesia and also Perjalanan, which is a song from Indonesian legendary duet, Franky and Jane.

The whole album Story of Peter itself in my own opinion is a masterpiece that totally deserves much apreciation, showing and proving Risa's ability in making her own music, sharing her own idea in a perfect package. Listening through the singles in the album we would be taken on a journey - a journey to the past, present and future - of the life, dreams and magical stories of Sarasvatī.

Such divine passion towards knowledge, art, and particularly music, is conveyed through songs and lyrics, with passages after passages, words by words Risa shares her eternal experience of pursuing happiness, with you.

Her spiritual journey, her quest for perfection, and many simple, negligible, unimportant whatnot.

This is Sarasvatī. Enjoy the truthful music from Risa Saraswati.

MP3 Taken From Deathrockstar.info

Translation:

(1) "Sometimes the perfect farewell is to the door to a second birth."

(2) “This is the time for me to express all the ideas in my head that can't necessarily be understood easily by others. Working on it on my own would be the best way to do it”

(3) "I had lived in the art environment since childhood, born in a family which studied on regional culture, spent my childhood by watching local arts and cultural performances where my family whould appear"

(4) "Peter was my childhood friend. Unsurprisingly, he was the invisible creatures that lived in my house at the time. I spent most of my time with him and he's got a big role to shape the character that I am now. This album is dedicated to him"

(5) "The idea would just appear, while singing tunes carelessly. Suddenly I'd find tunes that I think is okay. At that moment then came the desire to complete further notes into a song."

New Romantic

I know I said I love you but I'm thinking I was wrong,
I'm the first to admit that I'm still pretty young,
And I never meant to hurt you when I wrote you ten love songs.

That guy that I could never get, 'cause his girlfriend was pretty fit,
And everyone who knew her loved her so.
And I made you leave her for me and now I'm feeling pretty mean,
But my mind has fucked me over more times than any man could ever know.

Maybe I should give up, give in,
Give up trying to be thin,
Give up and turn into my mother,
God knows I love her.

And I'm sorry to whichever man should meet my sorry state,
Watch my sturdy, lonesome gait and beware,
I will never love a man 'cause love and pain go hand in hand,
And I can't do it,
Again.

So we stayed up late one night to try and get our problems right,
But I couldn't get into his head just what was going through my mind.
And I think he knew where I was going 'cause he put Ryan Adams on,
'cause I think he thinks it makes me weak, but it only ever makes me strong.

I've got this friend who sounds just like him,
Now he's the man I leave you for, the man that I just adore,
Like you.
The same man, he turns to me, he said "I've got to tell you how I feel,
If God could make the perfect girl, for me it would be you,
And my God told me not to tell about how much do you love your fella?"
I don't know more everyday,
Not in this new romantic way.

I'll always be your first love,
You'll always be my first love.

And I'm sorry to whichever man should meet my sorry state,
Watch my sturdy, lonesome gait and beware,
That I will never love a man 'cause I could never hurt a man in this way.
I will never love a man 'cause I could never hurt a man,
Not in this new romantic way.

[Laura Marling - New Romantic]

Another talented voice. Thank you hon, for sending me this...
